A Singing Church
I believe every church is to be a singing church. After all, joy for the Lord should be audible when there is an opportunity. For the church in Wilhoit [Arizona] to become a singing church, we needed two things: hearts for the Lord and a new piano player.
After months of prayer, God brought across my path a young couple who were near divorce. Joe was desperate for help. Carmen was angry and confused. We began marriage counseling.
One day when talking with Carmen, I asked, “Do you play the piano?” Carmen had not played since she was a teenager. Today she is a key part of our praise and worship team, and so is her husband, Joe. A couple of weeks ago, the two of them finally quit smoking in preparation for being part of the leadership team for upcoming youth ministry.
God has healed their marriage completely and removed a number of distractions that were hindering the growth of their marriage and their relationships with Christ. The work God is doing in their lives is blessing the whole church family. Joe and Carmen’s story is His story, and we are humbled to be a part of it.
