Bruce & Lori Thompson

About Me

The Thompsons serve as area missionaries in east-central Minnesota. They started on the field on September 1, 2007. Bruce grew up under the ministry of Rev. Ellsworth Moritz, attending Evergreen Bible Camp as a camper and then becoming part of the staff. Bruce met Lori at Camp Shamineau during the summer of 1981, and the two were married the following year, after Bruce completed his youth ministry diploma at Oak Hills Bible Institute and Lori completed a year of Bible college.

They went into full-time ministry with Youth For Christ under the Youth Guidance Program and worked with Native Americans at the Red Lake Indian Reservation for about the first two years of their marriage. They also spent many years in church and youth ministry, including eleven years at Hustletown Community Church of Pine City, which is an AMF ministry.

While serving there, Ken Dalbey asked Bruce to pray about taking over the field as Ken prepared for retirement status. Bruce also worked a full-time job while pastoring Hustletown but was unaware that Lori had been praying for God to show them a way in which they could spend more of their time in ministry. So, after spending a month in prayer about taking over the field, they felt God was indeed calling them there. Bruce continues to pastor the Hustletown Church, although he has a guest speaker twelve Sundays of the year so he can visit and speak at supporting churches and their area AMF churches.
