Jeff & Tami Mould from Western Region

Tami and Jeff met and married at Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, Iowa and then moved to northern California to work at a Young Life camp (Woodleaf) before joining AMF. …

When Tami and I knew that God was calling us to a new work within the borders of California, He also placed in us a desire to work with other people groups from different cultures and ethnic backgrounds.  Wanting to be sensitive the leading of the Spirit, we committed it all to prayer.

Upon our arrival in San Diego, I (Jeff) contacted an elder in a church that supports us.  Over a cup of coffee, I asked Dan if the church was involved in cross-cultural ministry in the San Diego area.  Dan enthusiastically shared with me that the United States resettles around 50,000 refugees each year and that San Diego is one of the cities in which refugees are placed. Of the top ten countries of origin, at least five are from the 10/40 window.

Within the city, there is opportunity to offer practical ministry help to families from Iraq, Nepal, Uganda, Laos and Vietnam (to name a few).  As relationships and trust develop, there are many churches and ministries to connect them to.  As a first step, our entire family has signed up to be a mentoring family to a refugee family recently arrived in the United States.  Our children will accompany us as we visit with this family.

We thank God for leading us to this opportunity.  Through partnering with existing organizations, we hope to find “gaps” of ministry opportunity and share the love of Christ “internationally” within our own borders.
