Gentle Shepherd Ministries: God @ Work
1. Answered prayers—Both Eric Grant (bacterial meningitis) and Ruth Prins (pericarditus) are out of the hospital! Continue to pray for them during this recovery time.
2. Greg White (works with Richard Stagg at the Nicollet County jail in St. Peter, Minnesota) writes about this exciting experience that happened recently: “Jerry, Just a note to let you know about a praise report. On October 4, I was doing jail ministry at Nicollet County. There were nine people attending service that morning. As we moved forward in the lesson, the Holy Spirit moved us in a different direction than planned. One of the attendees told a story about a counselor who died and went to heaven and then was brought back to life. He asked me if I believed that could happen. I told him yes. And as God always does, ‘coincidentally’ I was at a retreat the past weekend where one of the speakers talked about this very subject of angels and demons at the time of death. One thing lead to another, and at the end of the hour-and-a-half discussion, all nine people said a prayer of salvation. The next week four of the nine had praise reports: one found a place to live when he gets out, two found jobs that allowed for work release, and another got out of jail earlier than expected. Jesus is awesome! In Christ, Greg White”
3. I had the privilege of leading a senior resident at Central Halth Care in LeCenter to the Lord this afternoon. A.S. is a regular attender of the Sunday afternoon service. He has not felt well for a long time. He was very weak today and through his tears he told me, “I can’t take this pain!” During the service he requested to go back to his room and lay down. Several weeks ago, one of our volunteers asked A. if he was ready to meet the Lord when that time comes. His response was, “I hope I’m on the right side.” After the service I visited with him and explained the Gospel as clearly as I could. A.S. invited Jesus into his heart as he placed His trust alone in Christ for salvation! I told him, “You don’t have to worry now about which side you’ll be on. You will one day meet Jesus face to face in heaven!” Please pray for him in all his pain and that the Holy Spirit will help him through this time and God will make Himself very real to A.S.
4. Please pray for our GSM annual banquet on Tuesday, November 10, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Applewood Restaurant (off Stoltzman Rd. in Mankato). Pray that God would use the time of fellowship, testimonies, and presentations to honor the Lord. We’d love to see some of you from the Twin Cities and southwestern and southeastern Minnesota. Sign up by phoning me at 507-327-1480 or emailing me by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).  We’re expecting around 150 people.
Thanks for your prayers!!!!
Jerry and Dorphia
