American Missionary Fellowship

Amy Huggins, daughter of AMF missionaries George and Alice Huggins, lives in Indiana, Pennsylvania. She has been a candidate since February 2009. Amy grew up in Spain, where her parents were missionaries before joining AMF. She deeply desires to see people come to a saving faith in Jesus and to help them grow in living out their faith. In addition to ministering to international students, Amy hopes to develop a camping program for people with disabilities.

Steven & Gaitha Athans live in Columbia, Missouri, and have been candidates since February 2009. They seek to create Learning Communities to reach people in area apartment complexes and a coffeehouse ministry to reach key community groups, including internationals on the university campus near their home.

John & Kathy Hoover live in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and have been candidates since May 2007. God has burdened them with ministry in southern New Hampshire. They anticipate Learning Communities, visitation, and encouragement will play major parts in their approach to reaching the unchurched, particularly in nursing homes and assisted living centers.

Jeremy & Danae Hoyt are serving in the Pike’s Peak area of Colorado and have been active with AMF since October 2008. In this area, ranching is declining, and the land is being purchased to build houses for people moving out of urban areas. The Hoyts have a youth ministry and have met many of the pastors and leaders of the small churches in that region. They sense a clear calling from the Lord to develop children, youth, and adult ministries in trailer parks, rural communities, and needy areas.

John & Leslie Biernacki live in Bridgeport, Nebraska and have been candidates since April 2009. They have worked with AMF missionaries Rick and Marie Parker at Camp Rock. They would like to do ministry among the teens and young adults of southwestern Nebraska. Currently, they are involved in several youth and young adult ministries.
